Boys Middle School Volleyball

Coach Smith was born in Wisconsin in the late 1900's and moved to the Chicago area in 1988 at the age of five. Over the years, Coach Smith participated in a range of athletics, which eventually narrowed down to playing at the varsity levels in baseball, basketball, football, and volleyball in high school. During his youth, Coach Smith had many supportive and helpful coaches to facilitate improvement as an athlete and young man. He played a single season of club volleyball at Illinois State and the addition of volleyball caught the attention of the D7 on his resume. 2008-2009 would be the inaugural season for Boys Volleyball at Edwardsville High School and Coach Smith earned a teaching position in District 7 that year. The EHS Boys Volleyball program was understaffed the first year and but Coach was added to the previously shorthanded coaching staff for the second season in the 2009-2010 school year.
